Pratley, a leading manufacturer, is seeking a qualified Fitter with strong hydraulic experience to join their team in Krugersdorp, West Rand. This role is crucial for maintaining production equipment, ensuring plant reliability, and contributing to the overall efficiency of manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining production equipment, minimising downtime and ensuring plant reliability through effective preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Involving in maintaining, repairing, and improving production equipment, with a focus on hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
- Fault diagnosis, repairs, breakdown response, and root cause analysis.
- Accurate reporting, safety compliance, housekeeping, and equipment upgrades.
- Availability for standby or overtime when required.
Requirements
- Valid code 8, 10 or 14 driver’s licence.
- Recognised Trade Test qualification as a Fitter.
- Minimum of 5 years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, valves, power packs, presses, and hose and pipework installation and repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical drawings.
- Welding and basic fabrication experience will be advantageous.
- Medically fit for work in an industrial environment.

- Excellent hydraulic fault-finding ability and analytical skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
