Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious, and experienced Forklift Operator to join our warehouse operations team in Muldersdrift. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other warehouse equipment, including loading and offloading trucks and containers, moving and stacking cargo, maintaining accurate cargo records, and supporting the overall smooth running of the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations
- Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse handling equipment.
- Load and offload goods from trucks and containers.
- Move, stack, and position cargo safely and efficiently within the warehouse.
- Conduct daily pre-use inspections of the forklift and report any defects or maintenance requirements immediately.
- Ensure cargo is handled carefully to prevent damage or loss.
- Follow all warehouse safety procedures and company policies.
Cargo & Inventory Management
- Capture and label all received and dispatched cargo accurately.
- Record all cargo movements on the warehouse system.
- Maintain accurate warehouse inventory records.
- Report discrepancies, shortages, damages, or unidentified cargo to the supervisor/manager immediately.
- Monitor and maintain records of Loading Authorities and Overstayed Cargo.
- Assist with stock counts and regular warehouse reconciliations when required.
- Ensure no cargo is moved, loaded, offloaded, or released without the appropriate instruction and documentation.
Warehouse Efficiency & Housekeeping
- Optimise the use of available warehouse storage space.
- Ensure loading and offloading activities are completed efficiently and within required timeframes.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse and work area.
- Ensure cargo is stored securely and in the correct designated areas.
- Assist with general warehouse duties and other reasonable tasks as required by management.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a warehouse environment.
- Grade 12 / Matric qualification.
- Valid Forklift Licence.
- Previous experience operating a forklift in a busy warehouse or logistics environment will be advantageous.
- Basic computer literacy and the ability to learn and operate warehouse management systems.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual handling duties when required.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Safety-conscious with a commitment to following company procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.
