An exciting opportunity exists at Nampak Metals Vanderbijlpark for six Apprentices within the Engineering Department. The apprenticeship opportunities are available across the following functions:
- 2x Mechanical Fitter
- 2x Electrical
- 2x Fitter & Turner
Key Responsibilities
As an Apprentice, your key responsibilities will include:
- Completion of all required theoretical modules for the trade.
- Undergoing intensive on-the-job training and other related training.
- Providing support to the production process with adequate levels of availability and reliability.
- Demonstrating the ability to practically conduct maintenance and installations.
- Acquiring problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Adhering to plant rules, regulations, and safety requirements.
- Working effectively within a team-based environment.
The Ideal Candidate Should Possess
To be considered for this apprenticeship, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Matric with Maths, Physical Science and English as a second language, with a minimum 50% pass mark.
- Must provide certificate and results (transcript) for NTC3 (or Higher).
- Minimum NTC3 engineering, with relevant trade theory as a subject.
- A good engineering understanding at a basic level.
- Team orientation, be systematic and well organized.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Good interpersonal & communication skills, positive attitude, able to use own initiative, team oriented, systematic, and well organized.
- Ability to work overtime and shifts when required.
