Job Opportunity: Fitter with Hydraulic Experience at Pratley
Pratley, a leading manufacturer, is looking for a qualified Fitter with strong hydraulic troubleshooting, turning, milling, and maintenance experience to join our team in Krugersdorp, West Rand.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining production equipment, minimising downtime, and ensuring plant reliability through effective preventative and corrective maintenance. This role focuses on hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform fault diagnosis and repairs.
- Respond to breakdowns efficiently.
- Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure accurate reporting of all maintenance activities.
- Maintain safety compliance and good housekeeping practices.
- Execute equipment upgrades.
- Be available for standby or overtime when required.
Requirements:
- Valid code 8, 10 or 14 driver’s licence.
- Recognised Trade Test qualification as a Fitter.
- Minimum of 5 years’ maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong practical knowledge of hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, valves, power packs, presses, and hose and pipework installation and repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings.
- Welding and basic fabrication experience will be advantageous.
- Medically fit for work in an industrial environment.
Skills:
- Excellent hydraulic fault-finding ability and analytical skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
